8 Highlights Of 67th Republic Day Celebrations (2016) !

January 26th marks our ‘National Republic Day’. In 1950, on this day, Constitution of India came into force. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with the help of drafting committee drafted the constitution of India.

On this National Festival day, tri-color flag will be hoisted, we have a ritual of having parade in New Delhi called the ‘Republic Day Parade’. The President of India will watch this parade and is carried out at the ‘Raj path’. The Honorable President of India will host the National Flag and a 21-gun salute is given to the National Flag. ‘National Anthem’ will be sung by the whole country in Harmony. India invites some of the biggest and most respectable personality from the world to be the ‘Chief Guest’.

1) French President Francois Hollande will be the Chief Guest

Some of the most respectable personalities will grace the Republic Day Parade as the Chief Guest. This year, French President Francois Hollande will be gracing the Rday Parade as the Chief Guest. He is the second French President to be the Chief Guest at India’s Republic Day Parade ceremony, after Nicolas Sarkozy.

2) French troops will take part in Republic Day Parade

Indian history is going to witness French troops participating in Republic Day Parade for the first time. They will be walking down with Indian soldiers at Rday Parade. A French group comprising of 56 personnel of the 35th Infantry Regiment of 7th Armoured Brigade will be taking part along with Indian soldiers.

3) Navy Tableaux will display aircaft carriers this year

This year’s Republic Day will witness India’s first indigenously developed aircraft carrier Vikrant and submarine Kalvari. Navy tableaux will display these aircraft carriers this year. 144 young sailors will participate in this event.

4) No BSF Camel contingent marching

There won’t be BSF (Border Security Force’s) camel contingent marching down the Rajpath this year. This is the first time that Rday won’t witness BSF camel contingent marching.

5) ITBP, CISF and SSB won’t appear in the parade

Paramilitary forces ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) and SSB (Services Selection Board) won’t take part in the Parade this year.

6) The Army Dog squad will appear at 67th Rday Parade

The Army Dog squad will appear at 67th Republic Day Parade after 26 years. These dogs are being trained for the last 4th months and they will appear at the Parade. About 36 canines will march down Rajpath on January 26th, 2016.

7) Women Daredevils CRPF will showcase motorcycle riding skills

120 women from the CRPF’s (Central Reserve Police Force) three women battalions and Rapid Action Force called the ‘Women Daredevils CRPF’ will demonstrate their motorcycle riding skills at the Parade. They are undertaking this training for the last two years.

8) Popular Sporting Icons will feature in National Anthem video

Popular Sporting icons Sachin Tendulkar, Baichung Bhutia and Sania Mirza will feature in the National Anthem video. This video was shot in Mumbai and Abhijit Panse directed it. Bollywood Music composer Ram Sampath composed the music. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will release the video.

Republic Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm in India. On this day, sacrifices made by the national leaders and their roles remind us to make this country what it is today!
